This TEAC R-555 is a auto-reverse stereo cassette deck with Dolby B and C noise reduction, it was first sold by TEAC in 1984 with a list price of USD $360 and discontinued a year later.

The main features of the TEAC R-555 are: 2 heads, tape type selection and capable of handling normal, chrome and metal tapes.

Dolby C-type used in the R-555 provides 20 dB of noise reduction above about 1,000 Hz, fully doubling the amount given by B-type.
